Description: 

Maintain a safe work environment by prioritizing safety work orders, leading safety work notification review, and insuring safety work orders are completed in a timely manner. Maintain an efficient and effective maintenance planning program.

Responsibilities: 

Lead safety initiatives and actively coaching safe behaviors.
Responsible for the specific work that gets planned and scheduled to ensure equipment reliability and “When” work gets scheduled to ensure process reliability.
Lead area maintenance working leaders and crafts to increase productivity and efficiency of crews.
Responsible for work preparation, planning, scheduling, and completion of all aspects of maintenance work in Converting/PS&D.
Schedules contractors with special skills to coincide with weekly and daily schedules.
Interface with vendors, in-house crafts and outside contractors to complete capital projects and expense projects throughout area of responsibility.
Primary contact for Union Presidents and shop stewards.
Collaborate with operations to implement planned work, emergency work and preventative maintenance schedules as required.
Build employee engagement and development programs to create high skill level and maximum versatility.
Develop and implement best-in-class maintenance practices throughout the mill. Support continued roll out of precision maintenance.
Lead routine outage maintenance activities.
Be primarily responsible for creating the annual maintenance budget.
Ability to audit key safety procedures.
Ability to work with the whole team to have one prioritized list for planning and scheduling.
Manage our budget using the checkbook process.
Be part of the weekend manager rotation.
Be a member of the Converting Leadership Team.

Qualifications: 

Strong organizational skills
Proficiency with the following systems
Manufacturing Work System (the process with which maintenance work gets done)
SAP (work order and req. writing and management)
RCFA tracking system
Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint
Microsoft Project
Minimum of 5-10 years experience in Paper Mill or Converting Operations
Bachelor’s Degree required and/or Equivalent experience will be considered.
High level of interpersonal skills (i.e., honesty, communication, leadership, decision making, conflict resolution, maintaining relationships)
Understanding of planning and scheduling techniques
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
